A Bad Day

Today was a less than stellar day. Off in the real world at the day job, 110ish people were let go to general downsizing. That guy has a real attitude problem, and I'm one of the ones he set his sights on.

I don't intend to allow this to distract me from the NaNoWriMo challenge. Writing is my strongest skill, and this site has just become a very important way to show that off. GeekBeat.TV will show my blogging style; this site will show my creative, fictional style.
Expect daily updates on my NaNoWriMo progress. By updates, I mean I will be writing publicly and posting what I write here.
Game on.

Owch. Oh honey, i'm sorry :( i know the feeling though... as much as my job seriously rocks my world, i'm losing it at the end of the month. At least i know it's coming, but that's cold comfort.

What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. Etc. Etc. Us internet folks generally land on some semblance of our feet. Thinking good thoughts in your general direction.

Thanks... I just have to tell remind myself how much better my position is now than it was years ago when I found myself in similar positions. Back then I didn't have the skills or experience I have now, let alone the vast networks of connections. It'll be okay, sooner or later.

Sorry to hear this news Gord! Sometimes when one door closes another one opens, and in my experience the new door usually leads us down a much better path.

You're right of course. I'm determined to see it that way; there are a million options out there and the most difficult part is choosing which one to pursue. I'm just sad to be leaving behind some of the most amazing people I've ever had the pleasure of working with.
